RIDING THE WAVES FOR AWARENESSRE/MAX of Southern Africa pledges its support to the CANSA expedition RE/MAX of Southern Africa has pledged its support for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) by financially contributing towards an exciting and challenging expedition. Five intrepid adventurers are due to set off on jet ski's and will travel over 2800km's of coastline in order to increase awareness and raise funds for CANSA. This expedition, set to begin on the Mozambique border tomorrow, forms part of the Coast 2 Coast 4 CANSA (C2C4C) campaign supported by SPAR and Acer. Over the next four weeks the five Coast 2 Coast 4 CANSA jet ski pilots, SA surfski paddler Barry Lewin (Umhlanga), SA surfer Jason Ribbink (Durban North), ex-Protea cricketer Lance Klusener (Mount Edgecombe), marine conservationist Mark Addison (Widenham) and former Dolphins cricketer Russel Symcox (Scottburgh), will travel up to 300km each day, riding the waves of South Africa's coastline from Mozambique to Namibia. There is no doubt that this expedition requires the pilots to be in peak physical and mental condition as they will be encountering extreme ocean conditions throughout their journey. Says Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa: "Since Russel Symcox, the expedition leader, is a part of the RE/MAX family and considering awareness and education around cancer is such a worthy cause to support, it was a natural synergy for RE/MAX of Southern Africa to pledge its financial support towards this event." Goslett wishes the C2C4C wave-riding team the best of luck for this epic journey and will eagerly track their progress over the next couple of weeks. "I look forward to welcoming them home safely and congratulating them on undertaking such an adventure, all in the name of charity," Goslett concludes.
